The highlight event in the gospel story is the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Join us on Sunday, April 1, at the YMCA for a special Easter Sunday 2018 celebration! We’ll have breakfast treats and coffee starting at 9:30 am and then worship at 10:00 am. Worship will include a special Easter song from our Gospel Kids. Bring a friend and don’t be late!
Why Death Had To Die: Everything and everyone dies. We know it. We all feel it. But people avoid thinking or talking about death because they fear it. But the gospel says that in Christ, the last enemy to be destroyed is death. In Christ, the risen King, we have nothing to fear because death is not the end of our story. This is great freedom—freedom to live wholeheartedly and work for the flourishing life for all people knowing full well that our time here and now is limited. Jesus broke the power of death. Let’s live like it!

Resurrection is the key to living the Jesus life. But……what if we’re wrong? What if the resurrection was simply made up? Just a myth? That would have devastating consequences on Christianity. If we’re wrong about the resurrection, then our preaching and our faith are useless. We would still need a savior. The apostles couldn’t help us, they would be false witnesses about God. We would have no hope for today or for the future. But…what if we’re right?!? Then the gospel could hold the weight of our whole lives.

The resurrection of Jesus is the lynchpin that holds together the whole story of the gospel—of who God is, what he’s done in the past, and what he’s doing today. But isn’t the resurrection of Jesus some sort of myth or fabrication? How believable is it? In 1 Corinthians 15, the Apostle Paul lays out compelling evidence to consider including multiple eyewitnesses. If it isn’t true, then none of Christianity matters. But if it is true, then it changes everything! The Christian message is a gospel of resurrection.
