In the heat of the moment, it can be hard to think clearly and respond with wisdom and grace. What do we need in that emotional moment? We need the blessing of wise counsel. When David and his mighty men are ready to crush a rich and powerful man for dismissively standing against them, Abigail becomes the voice of reason. And when David listens to her, she saves him from shameful bloodshed.
