Do you remember the presents you got for Christmas when you were 10 years old? Probably not. But I bet you can think of a person who shared their time, attention, and relationship—their presence—with you who made an impact on your life all those years ago. In Christmas, we see that the greatest and most important gift that Jesus gave was the gift of his presence. Jesus, both fully God and fully man, is God-with-us. So this Christmas, let us enjoy giving and receiving gifts, but let us give more of the lasting power of presence.
