Good Friday 2015: The message of the cross is the power of God to save. The painful, shameful death of Jesus Christ on the cross is the central symbol of Christianity. Though unexpected and offensive to some, the cross is really good news which reveals the true wisdom of God and makes foolish the “wisdom” of the world. When you focus on the cross, not being distracted by secondary matters, and feel the weight of what Christ bore on your behalf, you will boast in the Lord—giving God the glory due his name.
