No one can love you like your family. But at the same time, no one can hurt you like your family. We’ve all been hurt to some degree by people who are supposed to love us. How do we love someone who hurt us? Twenty years after they sold him as a slave, Joseph is reunited with his brothers. How will he respond? Joseph remains open to reconciliation but he wisely tests them to see if they had changed over the years. He allows them to slowly rebuild his trust. How do we love someone who hurt us? Carefully and slowly, with discerning wisdom. But with the love that we ourselves have received from God in Christ.
