Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand: This sermon is part of The Gospel According to Mark series. When Jesus comes upon a large crowd of people, he has compassion on them and stops to serve them in word and deed. Rather than sending them away, Jesus miraculously feeds them providing a picture of what it means to have a ministry mindset. Jesus models compassion for people, total dependence upon God, and humble service that marks a ministry mindset. This results in the glory of God and the invitation for his disciples to share in this work. Ultimately, disciples of Jesus have a ministry mindset because that is exactly how God has treated them in Christ.
