The Heart of Worship: This sermon is part of The Gospel According to Mark series. When religious leaders clash with Jesus over issues of the Old Testament Law, Jesus challenges their understanding of and faithfulness to the Law. Today, many people are confused by the differences between the moral, ceremonial, and civil laws (Do we pick and choose which laws to follow?). Others are confused by the role of the Law in the New Testament (Is the Law bad now?). So what’s the deal with the Law? The Law reveals our need for a savior, points to the coming of Christ, and is ultimately fulfilled by Jesus resulting in true worship. True worship is a new way of life that comes from a Spirit-changed heart in relationship with Jesus Christ.
