God is Present
Christmas teaches of God’s comforting presence with us. God knows us and wants to be with us. To accomplish this, God was willing to become one of us. At the birth of Jesus, the Word of God—God himself—became flesh and made his dwelling among us. God is present with us even today. How? Listen here… This sermon is part of the “Who is God in the Christmas Story?” series. Recorded on Dec 11, 2016, by Pastor David Parks on John 1:1-14. To The Ends Of The Earth
When Saul, a fierce enemy of the early Christian church, becomes a Christian, he joins a movement on a mission to bring the good news of Jesus to the ends of the earth by the power of the Spirit. Sharing Good News
We are a church that is all about good news. It’s in our name, our vision, and every single thing we do. Christians should be people who are known for good news and share good news as a joyful overflow of who we are. So why is sharing our faith so hard? We don’t see much of the goodness of the good news. We don’t see how the good news applies to everything. We don’t rely very much on the power of the Spirit. Being Faithful When It’s Hard
This is a broken world. Bad things happen. And at times we face great obstacles and challenges. Sometimes life is really hard! How can we be faithful when life is hard? We must know God’s story, a story of life and hope and resurrection. We must not be afraid to tell God’s story, even (especially!) when life is hard. And in all circumstances, we must fix our eyes on Jesus remembering his faithfulness to us through the cross. This sermon is part of the “Something Greater” series. Recorded on Nov 13, 2016, by Pastor David Parks on Acts 6:8-8:1. Listen/download here: Podcast: […]

Church Leadership
What is the role of church leadership in the mission of God? If the church is a garden, then church leaders are gardeners—laboring to bring flourishing life and growth and harvest from a diverse, but interdependent part of our world. The New Testament pattern for church leadership (qualified by character, gifting, and faith) is our pattern for ministry today with the ministry of the word and prayer as the primary task. This sermon is part of the “Something Greater” series. Recorded on Nov 6, 2016, by Pastor David Parks on Acts 6:1-7. Listen/download here: Podcast: Download (Duration: 37:03 — 44.4MB) | Embed […]
